SLARP and Genshin
Genshin Impact is in the SLARP catalog as a PC game: the app recognizes it by the GenshinImpact.exe and YuanShen.exe processes. SLARP does not run on a phone, and it does not route Android emulators on a PC: their traffic goes past SLARP.
Compare the game with SLARP and without. If the connection is steadier direct, set Genshin Impact to “Don't accelerate (direct)”: the route through the SLARP network is not always better than the direct one.
What SLARP does
Routes Genshin through its own network and optimizes ping and jitter
Picks the route to the server: the node is chosen for you, or you choose a city
If the connection drops, it finds a fallback route
Everything else on your PC runs as usual
What SLARP does not do
Does not change the region or the server in the game — you pick those in the game itself
Does not raise FPS and does not fix stutter caused by load on your PC
Will not help when the game's own servers are down
Works only on Windows 10 and 11: SLARP does not run on a phone or a console
Genshin servers
HoYoverse names four Genshin Impact servers:1
- America
- Europe
- Asia
- TW, HK, MO (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao)
Progress is separate on each server: one HoYoverse account can play on several at once, but those are different saves. HoYoverse does not say where the servers physically stand, so we do not name cities.
If Genshin stutters
High ping on Asia or America
The server is chosen together with your save, and Asia or America is a long way from Russia: part of the ping there is the distance itself. Moving to Europe with your progress is not possible; it is separate on each server. SLARP does not change the server and does not shorten the distance; it picks the route to the chosen server and watches for loss and jitter.1
It lags on your phone
SLARP will not help here: it is an app for Windows 10 and 11, and it does not route the mobile version of the game. On a PC, SLARP works with the PC client from the launcher and lets the game in an Android emulator pass it by.
Can't get in on update day
Before a new version the servers are taken down for maintenance: for version 7.1 HoYoverse planned about five hours of it. During that time nobody can sign in, and SLARP will not change anything. After maintenance, update the client in the launcher: since 2024 the PC version updates through HoYoPlay, HoYoverse's shared game launcher.2,3

Anti-cheat and SLARP
Game mode does not inject into the game and does not install an intercept driver on its traffic. We cannot vouch for publishers and their anti-cheat: they decide for themselves what counts as a violation.
If the game complains, take it off acceleration (“Don't accelerate (direct)” in the game's menu) and press “Report a problem”.

Questions about Genshin
Does SLARP work with Genshin Impact on a phone?
No. SLARP is an app for Windows 10 and 11 and routes only the PC version of the game. It does not accelerate phones or consoles, and Android emulators on a PC also go past it.
Which Genshin server should I pick?
There are four servers: America, Europe, Asia and a shared one for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. HoYoverse does not publish where they physically are, so we will not advise by city. The main thing to remember is that progress is separate on each server.
Does SLARP change the server in Genshin?
No. You pick the server in the game itself, and your progress is tied to it. SLARP carries the PC version's traffic to that server and optimizes ping and jitter along that route.
Why does my ping jump in Genshin?
Ping jumps are jitter: packets arrive unevenly. A common cause at home is Wi-Fi and downloads in the background, including a game update in the launcher. If everything at home is clean and the ping still jumps, SLARP picks a different route and watches jitter for the whole session.
Do I need a card for the trial?
No. The 72 hours are given once per account, with no payment and no card.
