Popular games are here: where to see ping in each one, where the servers are and which anti-cheat it uses. The full list is in the app: SLARP finds installed games on its own, and a game that is not on the list can be added manually.

Ping, jitter and packet loss in short

Ping
The time a packet takes to travel from your PC to the game server and back. It is measured in milliseconds: the lower it is, the sooner the server learns about your action.
Jitter
The spread of latency: packets arrive unevenly, some earlier, some later. With high jitter the game stutters even when the average ping is fine.
Packet loss
Data that never reached its destination. The game has to catch up: models twitch and “teleport”, and an action may never reach the server.

Why ping is high on a good connection

The speed of your plan says how much data gets through per second; ping says how long each packet takes. A game needs little data, but it needs it quickly and evenly, so a fast plan does not by itself mean low ping.

  • Distance to the server: the farther the game's data center, the higher the ping — nobody has repealed the laws of physics.
  • Your ISP's route: traffic to the server may take a roundabout path through congested nodes.
  • Wi-Fi: walls, neighboring networks and interference cause loss and jitter; a cable is usually steadier.
  • Background downloads: updates, torrents and streams on the same line take it over, and ping spikes.

How to tell what is getting in your way: turn on the ping and packet loss display in the game — each game page says where. Then compare Wi-Fi with a cable, and the game with and without downloads running. If the loss disappears on a cable, Wi-Fi is the problem. If ping is steady but the picture still stutters, look at FPS: that is load on your PC, not the network.

SLARP works on the second item: it routes the games you pick through its own network, picks the route to the server and optimizes ping and jitter for the whole match. It will not fix the distance to the server, Wi-Fi or the load on your PC — and the game pages say so.

What SLARP does

  • Routes the games you pick through its own network and optimizes ping and jitter

  • Picks the route to the server: the node is chosen for you, or you choose a city

  • If the connection drops, it finds a fallback route

  • Everything else on your PC runs as usual

What SLARP does not do

  • Does not change the region or the server in the game — you pick those in the game itself

  • Does not raise FPS and does not fix stutter caused by load on your PC

  • Will not help when the game's own servers are down

  • Works only on Windows 10 and 11: SLARP does not run on a phone or a console

Questions

Which games does SLARP support?

The app's catalog finds installed games on its own, and a game that is not on the list can be added manually. Here you'll find pages for popular games: where to see ping in them, where the servers are and which anti-cheat they use.

Does SLARP work on a phone?

No: SLARP is an app for Windows 10 and 11. It does not run on a phone or a console.

Why is my ping high on a good connection?

Plan speed and ping are different things: ping depends on the distance to the server, your ISP's route, Wi-Fi and background downloads. SLARP picks the route to the server through its own network; it does not change the distance or your Wi-Fi.

Do I need a card for the trial?

No. The 72 hours are given once per account, with no payment and no card.
