SLARP and Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 is in the SLARP catalog: the app tells the game apart by the bf6.exe process. Battlefield 2042 is listed in the catalog separately, with its own BF2042.exe process, so each game has its own row in the app.

What SLARP does

  • Routes Battlefield 6 through its own network and optimizes ping and jitter

  • Picks the route to the server: the node is chosen for you, or you choose a city

  • If the connection drops, it finds a fallback route

  • Everything else on your PC runs as usual

What SLARP does not do

  • Does not change the region or the server in the game — you pick those in the game itself

  • Does not raise FPS and does not fix stutter caused by load on your PC

  • Will not help when the game's own servers are down — check the status2

  • Works only on Windows 10 and 11: SLARP does not run on a phone or a console

  • Does not pick a server in Portal: you choose it in the game's server browser

Battlefield 6 servers

EA does not publish a list of cities with Battlefield 6 servers. But EA's help article on ping explains why the game may connect you to a distant server.3

Matchmaking picks the server, and in Portal you choose it in the server browser. SLARP does not change it: it carries traffic to the server the game connected to.

Some regions have no servers, and then the game connects you to a more distant one. You can also land on a distant server when matchmaking in your region takes too long.3

Portal mode has a server browser: each mode shows its region on the right, so you can find a closer server yourself.3

How to see your ping in Battlefield 6

Ping and network state in Battlefield 6 are turned on in the system settings. The steps follow EA's help.3

  1. Pause the game, open Options and the System section. You need the Network block: Options → System → Network
  2. Turn on Scoreboard Ping: each player's ping appears next to their name on the scoreboard.
  3. In the same block open Network Graph and press Modify: Network Graph → Modify
  4. For the network bar and graph (Show Network Performance Bar and Show Network Performance Graph) choose Always, Hide or On Problems — show always, hide, or show only when there are problems.
  5. Show Damage Log and Show Event Graph set to On will tell you whose side the hiccup is on: the client's or the server's.

Menu items are named as in the source, in English: localized versions of the game translate them.

If Battlefield 6 stutters

Where high ping and loss come from

EA names three common causes: distance to the server, weak Wi-Fi and many devices loading the home network at once. SLARP does affect the route to the server: it picks it through its own network and watches ping, jitter and loss. It will not fix Wi-Fi or the load on your home network.3

Router and Wi-Fi channel

EA's help recommends a cable instead of Wi-Fi. If you cannot run a cable, put the router in an open spot closer to the PC and point the antenna toward it. Another tip is to change the Wi-Fi channel: the current one may be crowded by neighboring networks.3

The game throws you onto a distant server

If there are no servers in your region or matchmaking drags on, Battlefield 6 connects you to a distant one. SLARP will not shorten the distance. Play a match with SLARP and without, and if it is worse with it, set the game to “Don't accelerate (direct)”.3

Unexplained connection failures

A small thing from the same EA article: a wrong date and time on the PC sometimes gets in the way of the connection too. Check them in the Windows settings before looking for the cause in the network.3

Anti-cheat and SLARP

The Battlefield 6 Steam page lists the kernel-mode anti-cheat EA Javelin Anticheat. Its boot protection requires both Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 to be enabled in Windows. That is the game's requirement, not SLARP's.1

Game mode does not inject into the game and does not install an intercept driver on its traffic. We cannot vouch for publishers and their anti-cheat: they decide for themselves what counts as a violation.

If the game complains, take it off acceleration (“Don't accelerate (direct)” in the game's menu) and press “Report a problem”.

Questions about Battlefield 6

How do I turn on ping in Battlefield 6?

Pause, then Options → System, and in the Network block turn on Scoreboard Ping: players' ping appears on the scoreboard. In the same place, Network Graph → Modify turns on the network bar and graph.

Is Battlefield 2042 supported too?

Yes, Battlefield 2042 is a separate entry in the SLARP catalog: the app recognizes it by the BF2042.exe process. This page is about Battlefield 6; the network settings in 2042 may be named differently.

Why does Battlefield 6 need Secure Boot and TPM 2.0?

The game's EA Javelin anti-cheat requires them, as stated on the Battlefield 6 Steam page. SLARP requires neither Secure Boot nor TPM and does not touch those Windows settings.

Where do I check whether the Battlefield 6 servers are down?

On EA's server status page: it has separate rows for Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 2042. If the outage is on EA's side, SLARP will not help — all you can do is wait until the servers come back.

Will there be automatic charges?

No. Access does not renew on its own — you renew it manually.
