SLARP and War Thunder
War Thunder is in the SLARP catalog: the app recognizes the game by the aces.exe process. Tanks, aircraft or ships — to SLARP it is one process, so there is nothing to switch between modes.
If a battle runs on a server on another continent, the connection may not get any steadier: most of the ping there comes from distance. Compare a battle with SLARP and without. If direct is better, set War Thunder to “Don't accelerate (direct)”.
What SLARP does
Routes War Thunder through its own network and optimizes ping and jitter
Picks the route to the server: the node is chosen for you, or you choose a city
If the connection drops, it finds a fallback route
Everything else on your PC runs as usual
What SLARP does not do
Does not change the region or the server in the game — you pick those in the game itself
Does not raise FPS and does not fix stutter caused by load on your PC
Will not help when the game's own servers are down
Works only on Windows 10 and 11: SLARP does not run on a phone or a console
If War Thunder stutters
“Connection to the battle server lost”
For error 82220003, Gaijin's help names four causes: the internet went down; a drop at your ISP or the game's UDP ports closed by it; maintenance on the server; blocking by an antivirus or firewall. Drops along the route are exactly what SLARP works with: it carries the battle through its own network and looks for a fallback route if the connection drops. It will not fix maintenance or blocking on your PC.2
Ping jumps only at certain moments of a battle
For such cases Gaijin support asks you to record the ping to warthunder.com for the whole battle with the ping command and the -t switch, and to attach the resulting file to your ticket. That shows exactly when the connection breaks. Meanwhile SLARP optimizes ping and jitter on the route to the server, and if the route degrades, it switches to a fallback.3
Can't join a battle: “Server is under maintenance”
Errors 8002A741 and 8000100A appear when you connect to the server while updates are being installed. Gaijin posts the details in the news on the game's website. While the work is under way the server is unavailable to everyone, and SLARP will not help there.4

Anti-cheat and SLARP
Gaijin writes that War Thunder is protected by two anti-cheats at once. BattlEye works at the kernel level and replaced the former EAC. Viking is built right into the game client and runs without administrator rights. Both work only in the PC version; the Viking client module runs only while an online session is in progress. The game's Steam page adds that after uninstalling War Thunder, BattlEye itself has to be removed manually.1,5
Game mode does not inject into the game and does not install an intercept driver on its traffic. We cannot vouch for publishers and their anti-cheat: they decide for themselves what counts as a violation.
If the game complains, take it off acceleration (“Don't accelerate (direct)” in the game's menu) and press “Report a problem”.

Questions about War Thunder
Is the CIS version from Pixel Storm the same game?
Yes. In the CIS the PC version with its own launcher is published by Pixel Storm, but, as Gaijin writes, players from all regions play together. SLARP recognizes War Thunder by the aces.exe process, and the catalog entry was made for the Steam version. If SLARP did not find the game from the Pixel Storm launcher on its own, contact support.
Will it be better on a distant server?
Not necessarily. When the battle server is on another continent, most of the ping comes from the distance itself, and the route through the SLARP network may turn out no better than the direct one. Play a battle with SLARP and without, and keep whichever is steadier.
Which ports does War Thunder need?
According to Gaijin's help, the game needs TCP ports 80, 443, 5222, 8443, 7800–7802 and 7850–7854, as well as UDP ports 20000–30000, 3478–3480 and 16172. If a battle keeps dropping, Gaijin recommends checking that they are not closed by a firewall.
Will there be automatic charges?
No. Access does not renew on its own — you renew it manually.
