SLARP and The Finals

The Finals is in the SLARP catalog as a Steam game. The app recognizes it by the Discovery.exe process: that is the name of the game's file, even though the Steam library labels it THE FINALS. The matchmaking region stays up to you; you pick it in the game's settings.

The route through the SLARP network is not always better than the direct one. If your ping in The Finals is higher with acceleration than without, set the game to “Don't accelerate (direct)” and press “Report a problem”.

What SLARP does

  • Routes The Finals through its own network and optimizes ping and jitter

  • Picks the route to the server: the node is chosen for you, or you choose a city

  • If the connection drops, it finds a fallback route

  • Everything else on your PC runs as usual

What SLARP does not do

  • Does not change the region or the server in the game — you pick those in the game itself

  • Does not raise FPS and does not fix stutter caused by load on your PC

  • Will not help when the game's own servers are down

  • Works only on Windows 10 and 11: SLARP does not run on a phone or a console

The Finals servers

The region The Finals connects you to is visible in the settings: Settings → General → Region → Preferred Region. If it is set to Automatic, the game itself connects you to the best available region by connection quality.2

The party leader determines the region for the whole party: if they are in another country, the party plays on the servers of their region.

According to Embark's help, the region can also change on its own: if a player from another region is in the party, if your ISP routes traffic through another region, or if the connection is unstable. Then it is worth checking Preferred Region and picking a region manually if needed.2

If The Finals stutters

Ping went up once you grouped up

The game takes the party's region from the leader. If the leader lives far away, the whole party plays on their servers, and everyone's ping goes up. Let the person closest to the region you need form the party. SLARP does not change the region: it carries traffic to the server the game chose.2

Connection icons light up in a match

The Finals shows warning icons when the connection is unstable. The common causes, per Embark, are Wi-Fi, downloads and streams on the same network, and your ISP's route. Start with a cable instead of Wi-Fi and pause downloads. SLARP optimizes ping and jitter on the route to the server for the whole match and looks for a fallback route if the connection drops.2

It got worse with SLARP than without

That happens: the route through our network does not beat the direct one everywhere. Compare the ping in a match with acceleration and without. If direct is better, choose “Don't accelerate (direct)” for The Finals in the game's menu and keep accelerating your other games as usual.

Anti-cheat and SLARP

The Finals runs kernel-level Denuvo anti-cheat — as stated on the game's Steam page. The same page says the anti-cheat has to be removed manually after uninstalling the game.1

Game mode does not inject into the game and does not install an intercept driver on its traffic. We cannot vouch for publishers and their anti-cheat: they decide for themselves what counts as a violation.

If the game complains, take it off acceleration (“Don't accelerate (direct)” in the game's menu) and press “Report a problem”.

Questions about The Finals

Where do I pick a region in The Finals?

In the settings: Settings → General → Region → Preferred Region. With Automatic, the game itself picks the best available region by connection quality. In a party the leader determines the region.

Will my ping be lower with SLARP?

We cannot promise that: ping depends on the distance to the server, your ISP's route and your home network. SLARP picks the route through its own network and watches ping, jitter and loss. If direct works out better, set the game to “Don't accelerate (direct)”.

How does SLARP recognize The Finals?

By the Discovery.exe process — that is the name of the game's file. SLARP finds the installed game on its own; nothing needs setting up separately.

Which anti-cheat does The Finals use?

Kernel-level Denuvo Anti-Cheat, as stated on the game's Steam page. After uninstalling the game it has to be removed separately. SLARP works next to the game, not inside it: it does not inject into the Discovery.exe process and does not touch the game's files.

Will there be automatic charges?

No. Access does not renew on its own — you renew it manually.
