SLARP and Hunt
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is in the SLARP catalog as a Steam game: the app recognizes it by the HuntGame.exe process. The server region is set in Hunt itself, and SLARP does not touch it: it carries the mission's traffic to a server of the region set in the game.
What SLARP does
Routes Hunt through its own network and optimizes ping and jitter
Picks the route to the server: the node is chosen for you, or you choose a city
If the connection drops, it finds a fallback route
Everything else on your PC runs as usual
What SLARP does not do
Does not change the region or the server in the game — you pick those in the game itself
Does not raise FPS and does not fix stutter caused by load on your PC
Will not help when the game's own servers are down
Works only on Windows 10 and 11: SLARP does not run on a phone or a console
Does not fake your ping or hide it from the game: Hunt sees the real latency to the server
Hunt servers
The server region in Hunt: Showdown 1896 is chosen in the game itself. Since update 2.2 a region change applies right away, without restarting the game.2
Crytek does not publish a list of regions and the cities where the servers stand in these notes, so we do not name them.
The game does not let you choose a region where your ping is above the allowed limit: in patch 2.0.0.6 Crytek fixed a bug that let such a region be applied anyway. The same patch brought the region back into the mission statistics, so after a raid you can see where it ran.3
If Hunt stutters
The game won't let you pick a region
Hunt does not let you pick a region where your ping is above the allowed limit. Previously, if ping was high in every region, the game could refuse to let you play at all: Crytek fixed that in update 2.4. If the region you need is unavailable, check Wi-Fi, background downloads and the route. The route is what SLARP works on: it picks the route to the server through its own network.3,4
Ping jumps from mission to mission
Compare the region in the mission statistics: Hunt shows it there. If the jumps happen within the same region, Wi-Fi and background downloads on the same line are the usual culprits. SLARP optimizes ping and jitter on the route to the server for the whole mission, and if the route degrades, it looks for a fallback.3
Opponents with a high ping
Crytek is currently reworking ping-based matchmaking; details are in the questions below. SLARP has no effect on it: it does not see whom the game pairs you with and does not change its matchmaking.

Anti-cheat and SLARP
Hunt: Showdown 1896 uses Easy Anti-Cheat, which works at the Windows kernel level. This is stated on the game's Steam page; the same page says the anti-cheat has to be removed separately after uninstalling the game.1
Game mode does not inject into the game and does not install an intercept driver on its traffic. We cannot vouch for publishers and their anti-cheat: they decide for themselves what counts as a violation.
If the game complains, take it off acceleration (“Don't accelerate (direct)” in the game's menu) and press “Report a problem”.

Questions about Hunt
What is the ping limit in Hunt?
In March 2025 Crytek tested a separate matchmaking pool: if anyone in a team had a ping above the threshold, the whole team went into a separate pool and played against teams like it. In April 2025 the system was temporarily switched off because the ping calculation had to be redone. In June 2026 the developers wrote that they are building a new system on client and server data.
How do I change region in Hunt?
The region is chosen in the game itself, and since update 2.2 the change applies right away, without a restart. A region where your ping is above the allowed limit cannot be chosen. SLARP does not change the region.
Will SLARP get me past the ping limit?
SLARP does not fake your ping: the game sees the real latency to the server. It picks the route to the server and watches ping, jitter and loss, but it does not promise a ping below any threshold. If the latency comes down to the distance to the region, SLARP will not remove it.
Does SLARP work with Hunt on a console?
No: SLARP is an app for Windows 10 and 11. PC and consoles play separately in Hunt: in April 2025 Crytek wrote that the rare mixed matches were a bug, and it was fixed.
Do I need a card for the trial?
No. The 72 hours are given once per account, with no payment and no card.
